Long Island Escape Room Proposal

A future bride from our area escaped our newest escape room, “Diamonds In The Rough,” with a beautiful diamond ring of her own this past Monday. Hour Escape – Port Jeff hosted an escape room proposal, one of several in the past year, and a moment in this couple’s lives which Hour Escape was honored to be a part of.

A well prepared young man came to us a few weeks ago wanting to plan the perfect escape room proposal for his girlfriend. After discussing several options, he decided our game ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ was the perfect choice. Working together with the future groom and his family, we customized the ending of the game to include a few personal touches, setting the perfect scene for him to pop the question!

It went off without a hitch. Both of the couple’s parents joined them for a day of fun to “play a long island escape room,” and no one gave any clues as to the real reason they were there. As the group approached the end of the escape game, the last clue on the screen was replaced with a picture of the couple’s dogs. Confused, the bride-to-be turned around to find her future husband down on one knee. She said yes!

As escape room owners, we see some funny things on the cameras that monitor the games. We’ve hosted birthday parties, retirement celebrations, and even family reunions. On this day we were able to watch a very special moment shared among a couple and their families. It was great!”

And for those wondering, they escaped the room with a few minutes to spare.
